AMD Does RAID On a Chip
I setup the raid once and installed Windows on it. From your experience, is it something that can be estimated prior to build or is it always a case-by-case basis?

I managed to get rcraid. OR, you really have a dead drive, and you have inserted a new drive. After having re-read ventman’s write-up in detail, I realized that I had to go another route. I could find tho the gpu drivers for linux, dunno linix it the RAID drivers get removed from the site. There is a further catch. Could it be a hardware fault? Or even Silicon Image, since the Promise drivers at least some of them are actually from Silicon Image.
Hmmm, does the license of the raid module allows creating patchfiles as a loophone tho?

That may be sampling bias, but out of several hundred I tend to trust the trend.

Obviously in this case, I cannot boot with both drives active so I could not initiate the rebuild in Windows. They were running fine for two months all of a sudden the raid went critical. Lastly, thanks for chiming in. I saw you used the Linux drivers at one point while installing Ubuntu, which i thought was interesting.
The best thing ist that I could keep the installed Windows 10 without any data loss or the need to reinstall. Now that it had booted normally with both drives active, I ran the RAID Xpert utility and initiated the array rebuild.
